Wilmer A. Hill, 89 of Springfield passed away Friday morning, March 23, 2012 in Mercy Hospital. He was born April 13, 1922 in Aurora, Mo to Arthur and Laurel Hill.
Wilmer joined the Army Air Corp in September 1942 and served until his discharge in February 1946. He married Bettye A. Hill on June 3rd, 1946. Wilmer worked as a TV Repairman for 30 years. He loved to go camping and fishing but his favorite hobby was woodworking.
Wilmer was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bettye, youngest son Micky Aaron Hill and a sister Virginia Tharp.
He is survived by three sons and their wives; Toy A. Hill and Sharon, Rick Hill and Pat, Steve Hill and Kathy, a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hill; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a brother, Loren Hill of Aurora.
A graveside service will be held Monday, March 26, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. in White Chapel Memorial Gardens officiated by Dennis Barber. A visitation will start at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26 prior to the service in Klingner-Cope at White Chapel Funeral Home, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield.
Family has requested donations be made in Wilmer''s name to either Mercy Hospice, 1570 W. Battlefield, Springfield, MO 65807, or Missouri Veterans Home, 1600 S. Hickory St., Mt. Vernon, MO 65712.
