Obituary

Willie Pearl "Penny" Canady was born to Nora and Frank Lesure Jr. on February 24, 1942 in Marion, Arkansas. She peacefully fell asleep in death on March 25, 2026 in Fort. Myers, Florida.

Penny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and adored sister and aunt. She faithfully served for decades in the field of nursing with Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. A career she truly cherished. Penny was a woman of deep faith, devoted to her Christian beliefs and love for Jesus Christ.

She will be remembered for her strength, warmth and love she gave freely to her family and to many others.

Penny was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merlin "Mo" Canady; her mother, Nora (Holt) Lesure; her father, Frank Lesure Jr. and a large and loving group of siblings.

Penny is lovingly survived by her children, Christopher Canady and wife, Sharla of Missouri, Terry Canady of Missouri, Marla Canady of Missouri, Bobby Canady of Missouri, Benita North and husband, Joseph of Florida, Randall Canady of Missouri, Kevin Canady of Missouri, Donald Canady of Minnesota, Ronald Canady of Arizona, Salina Ferguson and husband, Vernon of  Missouri and Marlowe Canady and wife, Amelia of Washington.

She is also survived by her siblings, Gloria Lesure of Wisconsin, Brenda McCampbell of Indiana and Allen Kent Lesure and wife, Ann of Wisconsin.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Penny will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her infectious humor and unique style were unmatched. May those she leaves behind emulate the kindness she embodied.
