William A. Schram, Junior, Age 85, passed away April 1, 2023 at Ozark Riverview Manor in Ozark, MO. He was born November 17, 1937 in Chicago, IL to William A. Schram, Senior and Margaret (Marge) Stadniczenko Schram.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary Gale Hebert Schram; and his son Robert W. Schram.
Survivors include his Wife and Companion of 17 years, Ruth Kendall Schram, Springfield, MO; his children Susan Baugh (David), Maryville, TN, Bill Schram (Kari), Sparta, MO, Kristen Risdal (Dave), Spring, TX, and Leslie Poggemiller (Eric), Saint Joseph, MO; grandchildren David Baugh Jr. (Jess) Seaford, DE, Madeline Darley, Seaford, DE, Andrew Baugh, Portland, OR, Amanda Barrett (Logan), Wichita, KS, Anthony Schram, Springfield, MO, Allison Schram, Springfield, MO, Issac Risdal, San Antonio, TX, Shawn Risdal, Tyler, TX, Jordan Risdal, Austin, TX, Kevin Poggemiller, Saint Joseph, MO, and Jack Poggemiller, Saint Joseph, MO; great-grandchildren Judah Darley, Jacob Pedigo, Harper Barrett, and Lexi Schram; Sister Genevieve Miller, Galesburg IL; and his Brother in law Hal Hebert (Pat).
Bill Schram, a first generation American, grew up in Midlothian, IL. He attended the University of Illinois on a full-ride wrestling scholarship and graduated with a degree in Education. While pursuing his Masters of Education at the University of Missouri, he met the love of his life, Gale Hebert, and they became engaged six weeks later. Bill and Gale married in 1961 and Gale kept him in line for 36 years until her death in 1998 Bill taught high school Physical Education in Fulton, MO, where he also coached football, and formed the high school's first wrestling team, taking them to state. He also taught and coached at University City High School and taught himself to golf so he could coach it and was an avid golfer his entire life.
Spending most of his career as a sales representative and manager with Certified Laboratories, Bill remained good friends with many of his customers. After retiring from Certified, Bill worked as a paraprofessional at Hillcrest High School in Springfield, where he met his wife and companion of 17 years, Ruth Kendall Schram. Bill and Ruth enjoyed sailing on their sailboat, the Was Too; travelling, and spending time with friends. Bill also enjoyed amassing a sizable art collection, of which Ruth was extremely tolerant!
He will be missed by many close friends and family.
