A Celebration of Life Service for William “Bill” Kenneth Sabel of Springfield, Missouri will be held at White Chapel 5234 West Division Springfield, MO on Monday April 13, 2026 at 4pm with Military Honors. The eulogy will be given by Bill’s dear friend Gregg Mhires.

Bill was born at 12:25am Sunday October 4, 1942 at Mount Sinai Hospital Chicago Illinois. His family moved to Riverside, CA during his high school years and there he married and started a family. Springfield, MO has been his home for the past 30 plus years, he left his earthly home on March 23, 2026 peacefully sleeping at 1:13am to be with Jesus.

Bill attended South Milwaukee High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and finished his high school years at Romana High School Riverside, California. He also attended Riverside Community College there. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus during his younger years while living in Riverside, California. Bill served with in Navy Reserves from June 1961 until his Honorable Discharge in March 1965.

Bill loved to tell stories about the many adventures he experienced in his life, everyone in the family as a favorite story. He loved the outdoors especially during the winter when it snowed and fishing was his favorite pastime. During his younger years he was a avid bowler and returned to enjoy bowling after retirement. Bill taught himself to use a scroll saw to do woodworking and made beautiful animal desk clock that he sold on Esty. He was a member of James River Church.

Survivors include his wife Joann Sabel of Springfield, MO, one daughter and son in law Lori and Randy Potter, Riverside CA, two sons and one daughter in law , Steven and Anne Sabel, Grants Pass, OR , Kenneth Sabel San Diego, CA, 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. One bonus daughter Robin Johnson Springfield, MO, two bonus sons and daughters in law, Sean and Dinna Johnson Peoria, AZ, Casey and Jaime Porter Springfield, MO, 6 bonus grandchildren and 6 bonus great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his brother James Sabel 2018, his father Henry Sabel 1965, his mother Stella Pinkos 1994, and his step mother Maxine Sabel 1974.

The family extends and invitation to family and friends join us after the service at the Mathew’s home.
