W.T. "Tom" Robison of Springfield went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2015.
The Reverend Doctor William Thomas (Tom) Robison, age 89, was born on March 12, 1926, and was the son of Harley and Pearl (Hull) Robison. Tom had two brothers, Loren (deceased) and Bob who resides with his family in Nashville, TN. Tom married Betty Arlene (Bockerman) on August 2,1947 in Toledo, Ohio, and to them one son, William Thomas (Tom) Robison, II was born on February 20, 1953
Tom graduated from high school in Kentucky. Upon graduation in 1943 he enlisted with the United States Navy and was assigned to the Marshall Islands Campaign where he was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with one Star, World War II Victory Ribbon, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Purple Heart Medal for injuries during combat on Kwajalein in the South Pacific. Upon leaving the service, Tom continued his education by receiving a Doctor's degree from the University of Nebraska. He worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation before answering the call to preach. While pasturing small churches, he spent a number of years in education as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. Tom continued his ministry as a General Baptist Preacher and later as a United Methodist pastor. He enjoyed Southern Gospel music and spent several years with the Sunshine Boys.Later he began his own quartet "The Evangelists". Additionally, he continued his Military Order of the Purple Heart. He truly loved the Lord and professed his faith loudly through his ministry.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Pearl Robison; his brother Loren, and his grandson, Kevin Thomas Robison. He is survived by his wife , Betty Robison (Springfield, MO), his son and daughter- in-law, Tom and Judy Robison (Nixa, MO), his grandsons Aaron Robison (Kansas City, MO) and Sean Robison (Springfield, MO), and daughter, Donna Brezina (Harrisburg, NC), grandchildren Bob Parker (Colorado), Jonda Buchanan (North Carolina).
Visitation will be held at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte on Thursday, August 27,2015 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 28, 2015at 10:00 am at the Klingner-Cope Chapel with the internment to follow at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
