After high school, he went through officer's training for the Air Force.  He returned to marry Mary Walton then went on active duty in the Air Force.  He worked as a meteorologist for the first several years then transfered to the solar observing program where he worked another several years.  He has awards for the work he did for NASA during the Apollo and Skylab programs.  Later, he transferred back to the meteorology department and was made managing supervisor of the weather department at Dover Air Force Base until he retired from the Air Force.

He and his family moved to Willard.  He worked several years as chief engineer at KTTS radio then was engineer at KOZK (KDEB).  While he was working, he also attended SMSU and completed a degree in industrial education.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruth Steed Olson, his wife Mary Dorotha Olson, his brother, Fred Duane Olson, his sister Noreen Adele Johnson, his son William Donald Olson and a 2nd great granddaughter.

He is survived by his children; Beverly Knappenburger of Emporia, KS, Bob (Laurie) Olson of Gaithersburg MD, Brian (Debi) Olson of Bolivar, Barbara (Charles) Dawson of Willard, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 2nd great grandchildren.

Keith was always known as a kind, decent, hard working man.  He was very patriotic and loved serving his country.  He was also very active in his church and spent a great many hours in service there.  He was always a good friend and neighbor but most valued his role as a husband and father.
