William F. Collinson (Bill), son of Mae Norberg and E. Wayne Collinson, died at the age of 73 in the early morning of December 31st, 2015 after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jackie, and his faithful dog Sheila. He is survived by his children, Cindy Bacon and William Collinson, his late wife's children Anne Smith and Mike Sturdevant, his sister and brother-in-law Kathryn and Steve Johnson, his stepmother Billie Collinson, and nine grandchildren.
Bill attended high school in Springfield and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a teaching degree. He taught school in Seymour and Norwood Missouri, and was a probation office for LA County for eight years. He retired after many years as a public safety officer at SMS.
Bill was known as a wonderful and caring man and will be missed by all who knew him.
A simple graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 6th, 2016 at 10am under the direction of Klinger-Cope at Rivermont Memorial Gardens in Springfield. Memorials may be made to the cancer research or other charity of the donor's choice.
