William "Bill" E. Vaughn Sr., 80 of Springfield passed away on Thursday June 28, 2012. He was born January 14, 1932 to William and Ada (Smith) Vaughn. Bill loved to hunt and fish, bowling, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Delores; children: Shirley and Les Muncy, William E. Vaughn Jr., Ellen and Vernal Blakey, John Vaughn, Charles and Karen Vaughn; Grandchildren: Deanna Muncy, Anthony and Ashlee Vaughn, Jonathan Vaughn, Peggy Lucas; Great Grandchildren: Amelia Vaughn, AshtonVaughn and a host of family and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday July 1, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy EE. The funeral service will be held Monday July 2nd at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
