Willa Lea Morris 90, of Springfield, MO passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the Maples Nursing Home. She was born on January 7, 1929 in Springfield, MO to John Owen McAdams and Vada Retta Wilbanks.
In 1945 Willa moved to OKC and got a job as an elevator operator in a local department store. When she returned to Springfield she became a waitress while working there she met Gene Morris whom she married in June of 1948. They had three children, Marie, Michael and Keith. Willa's hobbies were cooking, sewing, painting and gardening. Willa and Gene owned several businesses but the one she was most proud of was the Lunchbox that she opened with her sister Lela. Willa traveled to Peru, Philippines and the Bahamas on mission trips. She had a gift from the Lord to speak to others through her chalk talks. Willa taught Sunday school and Women's retreats. She walked every day of her life with the Lord spreading his word to all she met. She will forever have touched many lives through her faith and talents.
Preceding Willa in death are her parents, brothers, Neil, Bernard and Jack; sisters, Margie and Lela; grandson, Michael Algier and a great-great granddaughter, Cadence,
Survivors included her daughter, Marie; sons, Michael and Keith; fourteen grandkids and many great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel (5234 West State Highway EE Springfield, MO). Funeral services will be Friday, Septermber 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Springfield Seventh-Day Adventist Church (702 S. Belview Avenue Springfield, MO 65802) with a burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Please be aware that the road is undergoing construction and that the road is still open to get to the church.
