Warren Branning, 94, of Springfield, MO passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023. He was born on Thursday, January 10, 1929 in Atlanta, KS to Elmer Branning and Viola Branning Pickett.
Warren was married to his "sweetie" for 70 glorious years. He worked as a sheet metalist for 43 years at Beechcraft in Wichita, KS while raising a family. Warren was a member of the Aerospace Machinist Union and served his country as a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War. He had attended Gospel Assembly Church in Wichita, KS, was a board member at Morning Star Church in Niangua, MO for several years, and most recently attended Ozark Community Church in Morgan, MO. Warren loved restoring VW Bugs, building model cars, square dancing, going to church, attending Bluegrass festivals, visiting with his friends at the Senior Center, and spending as much time as he could gardening. For 23 years he enjoyed being a "snowbird" in south Texas with the love of his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife Freeda, one son David, his parents, one brother Darrell Branning and one grandson Ronnie Branning.
Warren is survived by his two children Dale Branning (wife Kathy) and Janice Millsap, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804 with funeral services to follow at 8:30 AM on Friday, February 17, 2023. Burial and full military honors will be conducted at 10 AM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd., Springfield, MO 65804. Memorial donations can be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 E, St. Louis St. Suite 702, Springfield, Mo 65806. Online condolences may be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
