Wanda Elizabeth (Goodin) Dye, age 87 of Springfield, Mo, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went to her heavenly home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Cox South Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 21, 1924 to Roy and Rhoda (Whalin) Goodin. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Kenneth and Raymond Goodin.
She is survived by and is the beloved wife of Gaylord "Pete" Dye for 65 years and the cherished mother of Kenneth Dye and wife Janie, Larry Dye and wife Janet, Gary Dye and wife Joretta, Cora Parrish and husband Brad. The precious grandmother of ten, Shawn Dye, Melissa Rowden (Lee), Brian Dye (Kara), Amie Bell (Tom), Tracy Danielson (Bryan), Nikki Finley (Jason), Jason Dye, Katrina Doza (Joey), Josh Dye and Brandon Parrish (Erin). The loving great-grandmother to 21, Austin, Ryan, Amanda, Alissa, Allison, Tripp, Paige, Taylor, Kailey, Bryant, Christian, Hannah, Makaylee, Landen, Jaiden, Ashton, Rilynn, Gavin, Reese, Carson and little Zeke. She also leaves behind her siblings, Etta Mae Barke (Otto), Betty Norris, Jim Goodin (Bonnie), and Paul Goodin (Sue) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Wanda was the most giving and loving person. You never left her home hungry. She was an excellent pie maker and seamstress. She loved to make crafts and being a vendor at the area craft festivals, but most of all she loved her Lord and family.
Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love. You can see this in her family. She loved and is loved. She will always be in our hearts forever until we meet again on that glad reunion day.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, January 2 at Northside Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3 at 10 AM at Northside Christian Church, 4902 North State Highway H, Springfield, MO 65803.
