Obituary

Walter T. Allen, 92 of Springfield, was born on March 19, 1922 in Jerico Springs, MO to Steven and Emily Allen. He passed away on March 6, 2015.

He was raise in Jerico Springs, was in World War II in the South Pacific, a letter carrier in North Springfield for 20 years, a member of the National Antique Tractor Association, liked hunting, fishing and was an avid gardener. He was known for giant sweet potatoes and tender sweet corn that would melt in your mouth.

Walter was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Allen and his parents.

He is survived by his 3 children: Twins, Jack Allen and John (Kathy) Allen and Buenta (Jim) Johnston; grandchildren: J.R. Allen, Johnathon Allen, Stephanie Inman, Mandolynne Hopkins, Kevin Hopkins, and Tiffany Johnston; several great nephew and nieces and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 9:30 till 10:30 A.M., at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO. Services will follow at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
