Obituary

Virginia Leigh Watkins (95) peacefully passed away on April 27, 2021 at her residence at The Neighborhoods at Quail Creek. Virginia was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 6, 1925 to Howard and Fern Andrews. She spent her childhood in Omaha and attended Benson High School.

She is survived by her three sons, Richard, Robert (Doris), Rollo (Jackie) and two daughters, Joyce Rowley (Garret) and Christine VanHoozer (Roger), 16 grandchildren and 21 grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded In death by her son, Craig, and Herbert (who was her husband of 60 years).

She especially enjoyed entertaining her family at The Lake House in Kimberling City, particularly on the 4 th of July.

She also enjoyed traveling, and made trips to China. On the first trip, she and her husband met a young man who wanted to come to America. They sponsored him while he attended Missouri State University. He lived with them during this time. Eventually, they assisted him in bringing his family to the States. She always considered him another son.

Private graveside services will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 at 3:00 PM with a viewing from 2:00-3:00 Pm at Klingner- Cope Family Funeral Home (4500 S. Lone Pine Springfield, MO).
