Virginia May Hemphill, 91, of Sugar Land, TX passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017. She was born on Friday, March 5, 1926 in Dudenville, MO to Sadie Polston and Allen Stump.
Virginia was an Avon representative in Springfield, MO for 25 years from 1964 to 1989. She lived in Springfield, MO from 1943 to 1989 and in 1989 she moved to Sugar Land, TX.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Calvin Hemphill, her parents, two brothers Harlin and Floyd Stump and two sisters Bernice Garst and Reba Phipps.
She is survived by her two sons Duane Hemphill of Sugar Land, TX and Phillip Hemphill of Austin TX, two grandchildren Robin Browne and Mark Hemphill, four great-grandchildren and two sisters Ielene Edmonson of Bellevue, WA and Wanda Kinney of St. Augustine, FL.
Family will be receiving friends from 5-7 pm on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Klinger-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave, Springfield, MO 65804. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10 am at the Paradise Cemetery in Jasper, Missouri with Pastor Allen Phipps officiating.
