Virginia Marie Sproule, 85, of Springfield, MO departed this earthly life on Sunday, April 16, 2023. She was born on Saturday, June 5, 1937 in Hazel Green, WI to Donald H. Beckett and Marcella E. (Bennette) Beckett.

Virginia married Wayne E. Sproule on November 28, 1954 at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Galena, IL. Together they shared nearly 61 years of marriage until his passing in 2015. She and Wayne moved to Springfield in 1963 and became members of Messiah Lutheran Church. Virginia served in various capacities including assisting in the office, Choir, Worship and Music Committee, Finance Committee, Church Council and Council Secretary. She was employed in the banking industry from 1963 until her retirement in August of 2000 as Senior Vice President.

Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband Wayne, her parents and two brothers Donald and David Beckett.

She is survived by her husband Ralph Thulin, her two children Victoria Kurre (husband Eric) and Jonathan Sproule (wife Stephanie) and eight grandchildren Chancellor (wife Valarie), Makenzie and Brighton Kurre, Beckett, Tenley and Madelyn Sproule, Kayleigh Brewer and Matthew Spoonts.

A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804 with Graveside services to follow at 11 AM. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
