Virginia "Sue" Myers, age 88, of Springfield passed from this life on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.  Sue was born July 20, 1934 at Monarch, Arkansas to Tom Lawhon and Helen Pumphrey Lawhon. After graduating from Republic, Missouri High School she married David L. Myers on January 15, 1954 in Springfield.

She was baptized into the Church of Christ July 1949 and remained a lifelong member, attending East Grand Church of Christ for many years. She went on church mission trips to Nicaragua, where she made lasting friends. Sue worked in the mental health and medical field as an administrative assistant and office manager most of her working life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sister Elizabeth Ann Cockrum and brother Rick Lawhon. She is survived by daughters Lynda (Bill) Bishop of El Dorado Springs, Linda Myers of Ozark, Teresa Myers and Sarah (David) Fotopulos of Springfield; grandchildren Kathie Truitt, Chuck Bishop, David Jones and Lyndan Jones; great grandchildren Will Truitt and Rachael Tapper, and four great great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 1, 2022 at East Grand Church of Christ, Springfield. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Brookline Cemetery, Brookline, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, Sue requested that donations be made to Fair Haven Children's Home in Strafford, Mo.
