Virginia "Ginny" Mitchell, 82, of Springfield, MO passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at her daughter's home. She was born on Saturday, September 7, 1935 in Seymour, MO to Pearl Bowers and William Everett Hill.

Ginny married Bill L. Mitchell in 1978 in Kansas City, MO. Together they shared 33 wonderful years until his passing in May of 2011. She used to work as a clerk for Sears in Kansas City, MO for years before returning to Springfield, MO to work for Heer's. Ginny enjoyed life. She loved spending time outdoors, landscaping her yard, flowers and gardening.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband Bill, two sisters Geraldine K. Edgerton and Nadine L. Richey and one brother John I. Hill.

She is survived by her two daughters Carolyn Sue M. Alflen of Fair Grove, MO and Victoria "Vicky" S. Morales of Independence, MO, one sister Patsy Hammers of Springfield, MO and one grandson Mark "Tony" A. Alflen of Independence, MO.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd., Springfield, MO 65804.
