Vicki Bruce Barritt
Born June 29th,1964 to Herman and Janice Bruce in Tulare, California. She was preceded in death by both parents and grandparents and a husband Larry Wayne Barritt.
Vicki is survived by a daughter: Faith Lynn Bruce- Barritt; two grandchildren: Josiah Landon Bruce and Carson Wayne Barritt; Sister: Karen Dunham and friend David Burroughs of Springfield, Missouri; Brother: Harlan Bruce and wife Brandi of Wichita, Kansas; Sister: Cheryl Bruce of Alma, Arkansas; Brother: Brian Bruce and June Chism of Springfield, Missouri; Nieces: Quincy Ann Skinner, Cissy Bruce, Megan Bruce, Libbey Bruce, Kate Myers, Cheri Symonds; Nephews: Cory Bruce, Max Bruce, Clinton Williams II and several grand nieces and grand nephews as well as long time friends that were considered a second family.
A devoted mother and loving grandmother that was extremely proud of her daughter and grandsons. Vicki had accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was, when able, active in church.
Very active, an outgoing and generous woman who was only slowed down in life by a crippling back injury. And though it was a long and trying illness Vicki never lost her faith in God and family.
Vicki's family and friends are all at a loss for the void that will be left in their lives. They will miss the reassuring hugs, the confidant of a caring friend, the person that you could turn to when all others in life had seemed to turn away.
There can be no rainbows without rain, and on this sad day it is hard to understand what is gained by the passing of such a positive influence on the people around her. But her loved ones choose to believe that there must be.
The Bible says there is a time for everything under the heavens, this was Vicki's, she leaves a legacy of faith, hope and love. The very ideals that we should all strive for. As we look back at the life she left behind let's also look forward to the positive ways we can carry on the examples that she gave us. Be positive, Be loving, Be the person in the mirror that you hope the world sees. A hug is free, a smile is free they cost you nothing but can mean the world to the person that receives them and can last a lifetime.
So do not mourn her death, love the life and legacy that she leaves behind. If you want to see her eyes look into her daughters. To see her smile look at her grandsons. She is all around us and always will be.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 1:00 till 2:00 pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S Lone Pine, Springfield with service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
