Verna "Ma" Lorene Ledbetter 88, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017. She was born on June 10, 1929 to Loranzla and Alma (Ponder) Vandiver in Doniphan, Missouri.

Verna enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and tending to her flower garden. She spent many hours working on crossword puzzles and putting together her jigsaw puzzles. Verna dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Melvin "Pa" Lewis Ledbetter; daughter, Karen Pierce; and two sisters and two brothers.

Verna is survived by her three children, Kathy Johnson (Michael), Michael Ledbetter (Lynne), and Vicky Cowin (partner Todd Ahrens); son in law, Mark Pierce; ten grand children; and ten great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8th, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel (5234 W. State Highway EE). A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Verna will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
