Velma Mae Lieuallen, age 88 of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at her home. She was born May 6, 1932 in Carthage, Missouri to Harvey and Gladys Patrick. Mrs. Lieuallen loved bluegrass and gospel music, and played several instruments. She loved playing music with her brothers. She was a great cook, and enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything. She was also a caring and compassionate person who loved the Lord.
Velma Mae Lieuallen is survived by her husband of 51 years, Orland Lieuallen of the home, a son Charles M. Phillips of Springfield, grandsons Scotty Harris of Springfield, Gregory Todd Harris of Bolivar, and Charles P. Phillips of Strafford, a granddaughter Jennifer S. Skopec of Strafford, 9 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband James Franklin Phillips, a daughter Carolyn Harris, and 9 siblings.
A funeral service will be held Monday, September 14, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Klingner Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel. A visitation will be held Monday, September 14, 2020 from 2:00 pm until service time. Internment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of Klingner Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel.
