Obituary

Velma Virginia Kelly 107, of Republic, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. She was born on August 6, 1914 in Belle Plaine, Iowa to Ora S. and Florence A. (Cook) Hakeman.

Velma was a Christian and a member of Northwest Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ. Velma also enjoyed playing cards, bonco, working puzzles, reading and she would never pass up an opportunity to go shopping. Every Saturday she would spend her time at the beauty shop and on Sunday's she loved to go out to eat with family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Kelly; son, Ronald Vernon Jones and one sister, Ardeth.

Survivors include her daughter, Nedra Rapp; six grandchildren, Marla Baldwin, Debra Nordberg, Mark Rapp, Gail Day, Colleen of Michigan, Brian Jones of Michigan; numerous great, great great and great great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Integrity Hospice and Castlewood Senior Living for all the care and compassion for Velma and her family members.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Northwest Baptist Church (3075 W. Norton Road Springfield, MO 65803) with a burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens (5234 W. State Hwy EE Springfield, MO 65802).In Lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Velma's name to Northwest Baptist Church.
