Veda Shipman Jones, 95, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017. She was born on Saturday, July 23, 1921 in Montreal, MO to Elizabeth Viola Wilson and William Oscar Shipman.
Veda loved reading, Diet Coke and watching basketball, baseball, and Hallmark Movies. She especially enjoyed looking at pictures of her Great-Grand Children.
Veda was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Warren Shipman and one sister Betty Stroup.
She is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca Frederick (husband Bill) of Montreal, MO, Brenda Stone and Cathy Ashcraft (husband Jim) of Springfield, MO, seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, with three on the way.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude''s Children Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
