V Gene Henry, 87 of Springfield, MO was born on January 15, 1926 in Highlandville, MO to Vernice T. Henry and Lillie Maples. V Gene passed away on September 1, 2013 in his home surrounded by family.

On March 17, 1946 he married Geneva Turner in Harrison, AR. V Gene was a press operator for Lily Tulip Cup factory in Springfield, MO. He attended Pleasant View Baptist Church in Highlandville, MO and enjoyed listening to Bluegrass and Southern Gospel music.

V Gene is survived by his wife, Geneva; 4 children, Carol Ward and husband David, Johnny A. Henry, Debbie Williams and husband Lawrence, James Henry and wife Jackie; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arnold Henry; sisters, Eva Shelton, Gladys Flood and Ines Wright.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday September 4, 2013 from 6:00 till 8:00 pm in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W State Hwy EE (Division), Springfield, MO. Service will be Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
