Thomas Warren Tarter, 86, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 30, 2014 in Springfield, Missouri. He was born March 11, 1928 in Smithville, MO to Flem and Mamie (Zenith) Tarter.

Thomas was a member of First Baptist Church of Brookline and enjoyed fishing, hunting and making stained glass. He worked for Farmer Brothers Coffee Company for 34 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Ernest and Kenneth Tarter; 2 sisters, Mary Lou Daniels and Lola McKeone

Thomas was survived by his wife of 63 years, Edith; children, Denise Cook of Springfield, MO and Thomas S. Tarter and wife Lois of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, David Miles and wife Jodi of Platteville, CO, Julianna Tarter and Jennifer Sattler, both of San Jose, CA; great-grandchildren, Dustyn and Austyn Miles of Republic, MO, Kayla McCartney, Shelby and Katelyn Miles of CO, Dylan and Jaxon Sattler of CA; brother, Charles Tarter of MN; sisters, Benita Wright (Charles) and Patricia Raymond (Dick) of CA and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11 AM at Center Baptist Church, 5124 N. Farm Rd. 43, Ash Grove, MO officiated by Rev. Mitch Fisher and Rev. Dan Swadling. Inurnment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
