Obituary

Cremation rites were accorded as he desired. Graveside burial will be held at a later date at White Chapel Cemetery. Thomas John Price was born February 9, 1926, near Springfield, Mo, the son of Frank and Goldie Price. He died March 15, 2012, at his home outside of Springfield. He joined the Navy on his 17th birthday and fought in World War II. After the war, he met and married Virginia McCullough, September 25, 1946. He worked as a welder at Kent Boiler Works, Trailmobile and Paul Mueller Co. for many years. He loved to fish, camp, garden, and hunt mushrooms in the spring. His favorite fishing was along the Elk River. He worked constantly at mowing, fixing mowers, raking, and cutting wood. He was always willing to help anyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Larry and Bill and great-grandson Memphis Mungsford. Survivors include his beloved wife, Virginia, of 65 years; his daughter, Linda and husband, Joe Abercrombie, Buffalo, Mo; son Jerry, and his long-time friend, Effie; his youngest brother, Joe, Willard, Mo; grandsons Shane and Brent Nunn; Jeremy Price and wife, Jamie; Chad Abercrombie; Jeff Abercrombie and wife, Amber; and granddaughter, Ashley and husband, Andy Mungsford; and eight great-grandchildren.
