Thomas Stokes Jochum, beloved father to Bernadette and husband Neal Rumstein and very supportive grandfather to Craig and Arianna. Thomas Passed away January 11, 2012 in Springfield, Mo at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas "Skip" Jochum.
Thomas had a generous spirit and was a constant contributor to many charitable causes particularly those that help our veterans. Serving 20 years himself he never failed to acknowledge other vets no matter the branch or length of service. Thomas after retiring from the Navy went on to a second career in nursing home administration during which he earned a college degree. Later years of his life were spent partnered in business with his children which these times shared together are and will be forever cherished. In his retirement he enjoyed being an avid morning shopper and taking charge of the household.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel from 6-8pm with a graveside service to be held Tuesday January 17, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery 5201 S. Southwood , Springfield, Mo.
Memorial donations may be made in honor of Thomas to Disabled American Veterans.
