Obituary

Thelma Lorane Schriener Tarter, 94 years 3 months 2 days, residence of Springfield, MO departed this life on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from natural causes at the home of her daughter.

Thelma was born on April 9, 1920 to George Henry and Ada RLena (Wilson) Schriener at Shell Knob, MO. She married Harry Thomas Tarter September 27, 1942. To this union was born one daughter Bernita Carol Tarter Robinson on April 11, 1944.

She put her faith in Jesus Christ early in life at the age of 17. She was a member of Galloway Full Gospel Church, Springfield, MO. She sang and played her accordion as long as her health permitted. Thelma retired from F.W. Woolworth in 1984. She enjoyed genealogy of her family tree, she loved to cook and bake for friends and family. What made her smile was her relationship with Her Lord and Savior and her grandchildren and her great grandchildren were the joys of her life. She cherished being a grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry Thomas Tarter of 57 years, brother Charley William Schriener, and granddaughter Shawne Cherrie Atchley.

She is survived by one daughter Bernita Carol Tarter Robinson and son-in-law Michael Patrick Robinson, four grandchildren Stephen Thomas Atchley and wife Margaret Ann Atchley, Mechelle Lea Atchley, Michael Royce Atchley, Devan Glenn Atchley and wife Amanda Elizabeth Atchley, seven great grand children Cody, Dustin, Melissa, Dakota, Destiny, Keagan, and Austin, and a host of friends and family.

A visitation will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at the Galloway Full Gospel Church, 3357 W FM 146, Springfield, MO with the service to follow at 1:00 P.M. under the direction of Klingner Cope Family Funeral Home at Midtown, 1635 N. Benton, Springfield, MO. The burial will follow in the Eisenhower Cemetery.
