Susanne Mae Hester passed away at the age of 75. Susanne resided in Blue Springs, Missouri where she passed away on January 2, 2025.

Susanne was born on May 9, 1949, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, to her parents Charlotte (Kaudy) and LeRoy Higgins. She grew up on the family farm in Ava, Missouri with her two sisters, Sandra (Higgins) Smith and Dianna (Higgins) Parks.

She graduated from Ava High School in 1967. Susanne attended Southwest Missouri State University where she received a degree in accounting, graduating in 1981. Susanne worked as an accountant and retired as Controller for Clark Richardson & Biskup, a Kansas City based architect and engineering firm.

Susanne is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy & Charlotte Higgins. Son-in-law Steven Gutierrez.

She is survived by her husband of forty-two years Larry Hester; her two daughters Angela (Epps) Wright and her husband Darren Wright and Karrianne (Epps) Gutierrez; her grandchildren Gregory Pope, Courtney Pope, Matthew Gutierrez, Michael Gutierrez, Macaleb Gutierrez, Dean Hester, RJ Hester and Triston Hain; great-grandchildren Gunner Burns, Maisy Byrne and Millie Byrne.

After retirement, she spent time on her many hobbies and interests. Susanne was a very talented, creative and artistic person, always working on one of her many projects. Susanne always had a smile for those around her and was kind and generous. She loved to dance and move with the music; you could find her dancing in the front room or kitchen if she heard one of her favorite songs.

Her biggest joy was being able to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Susanne was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, in-law and friend. She was a talented artist, making her home, the holidays, really the world in general, a more beautiful place to be. She is missed every day.
