Susan L. Cockrum, 66, of Brookline, MO, went to be with her loving husband on their anniversary Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in Springfield, MO. She was born to John and Katherine McAlister (Price) on Monday, November 22, 1948, in Pittsburg, PA.

Susan was a loving mother, grandmother and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She always put family first. She loved gospel music and was musically talented. She was a member of Fresh Heart Foursquare Church for many years. She was most happy when she was with her family and friends. Susan never met a stranger, she was a very giving person who loved fishing, and being a prankster.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Gary Cockrum, Sr. of 33 years; her parents and her sister Jan.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Carter and husband Gary; Gary Cockrum, Jr. and wife Lora and John Cockrum; grandchildren, Nick, Brian, Keith, Zach, Amber, Aaron, Judah, Silas and Brandon; sister, Barbara Hutzler; brother, John McAlister and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 23, 2015 from 6-8 P.M. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at the Rivermonte Chapel, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Services will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, January 24, 2015, in the chapel. Burial will be at 10 A.M. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
