Norma Sue Shiflet, 83, a resident at The Montclair in Springfield, MO, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 25, 2018. She was born on Tuesday, June 25, 1935 in Jacksboro, TX to W.W. "Bill" and Mary Irene (Thomas) Evans.

On September 12, 1953 Sue married Thomas N. Shiflet in Jacksboro, TX and to this union 2 children were born. They enjoyed 44 years of marriage until his passing in 1997. She was committed to her family and liked nothing better then having the whole family together. While able, Sue was involved with her church, Second Baptist in Springfield, MO. A highlight of that involvement was a trip to the Holy Land. She also enjoyed living in Washington, D.C., during the 70's and 80's, where she was a volunteer at the White House Greetings Office.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ovais Zubair for many years of devoted care for Sue; the Staff and residents of The Montclair for their friendships and care; and to the Staff, Nurses and Aides at The Maples, Springfield, MO, for their loving care.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother-in-law Joe Carter and many dear family members and friends.

Surviving are her two daughters Susan Long (husband Barry) and Jean Parrott (husband Chris), one sister Billie Carter of Leavenworth, KS, seven grandchildren Jon Harris (wife Trisha), Jennifer Williams (husband David), Jarek Harris, Curtis Parrott (fiance Sadie), Kevin Parrott (fiance Jessica), Phillip Long (wife Vala) and Missy England and 11 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 9-10am on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804, with funeral services to follow at 10am. Burial will take place at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
