Obituary

Steven L. Cochrun, 66, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 18, 2016. He was born in Great Bend, Ks on October 16, 1949 to Alferd Bernard and Mary Geneva (Loveland) Cochrun.
Steven graduated from Central High School in 1967. He was inducted into the United States Army in 1969 and served 1 tour in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic / trained door gunner, and was an executive Assistant to the General. When he returned home he became a manager at Star Petroleum, and manager of Oklahoma Tire and Supply Company, in which he retired. Steven was baptized in 1979 at the Southside Baptist Church. He married the love of his life Rev. Norma Ruth Johnson Thompson on December 27, 1980 in Springfield, MO. Steven loved to travel, collect Hot Wheel Cars, he enjoyed going to antique car shows and museums, enjoyed researching family genealogy, watching western movies and going to music shows in Branson. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and was currently a member at Calvary Christian Assembly of God. He is preceded in death by his father Alferd Bernard Cochrun.
He is survived by his wife Reverend Norma Ruth Cochrun, mother Geneva Cochrun, children; Eric Thompson, Rod Cochrun, Adam Cochrun, 5 grandchildren, and 1 sister Teresa Shaw. Services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 1pm at Calvary Christian Assembly of God, Springfield, Missouri. Internment will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, family would like donations to be made to The Alzheimer''s Association.
