Mr. Stanley E. Baber, 89, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Mt. Grove, Missouri.

Stanley Eugene Baber was born on Tuesday, April 16, 1935, in Springfield, MO. to Russell and Oma (Stockstill) Baber.

Stanley worked for the Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad from 1955 to 1991 and then ran his own business delivering boats across the country for Bass Pro Shops until the early 2000's.

He was an avid reader and especially loved American history, leadership and WWII stories and documentaries. He loved cars and spent countless hours working on them in his garage. Stanley also enjoyed architecture and helped partner with builders on three homes in Springfield.

Stanley was a member of The Gideon's and Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Baber; youngest son, Sam Baber; grandson, Zac Baber; granddaughter, Madison Baber and one sister, Rea Abbott.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell Lena Baber and Oma Obal Stockstill Baber; his oldest son, Steve Baber; one sister, Stella; one brother, Jerry Baber.

A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Klingner-Cope Funeral Home Chapel Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave. Springfield, MO 65804.
