Shirley J. Green, 77, loving wife, mother and grandmother of Springfield, MO passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013. She was born in Urbana, MO on July 9, 1936 to Edna (Blevins) and Roy Heston Melton

She loved and enjoyed family especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed the many children she lovingly took care of over the years through her licensed Daycare facility. She also enjoyed camping and traveling.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Green; her parents; 4 brothers Bertram, Roy "Buel", George and Dale Melton and 1 great grandson Cayde Lawson.

She is survived by her 5 children Sherry Breshears, Troy Phillips, Lisa Shepherd, Kelly Fore and Steven Green; 2 step-children Sharon Cleaveland and David Green; 19 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 siblings Beulah "Sis" Lusk; William "Bill" and Kenneth Melton.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte Chapel 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave Springfield, MO with services on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. and burial in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
