Sheri Harris-Castaneda, 51, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 7, 2016. She was born on October 27, 1964 in Springfield, MO to Bill and Wanda Harris.
She was married to Oscar Castaneda-Alvarez, the love of her life, for 12 beautiful years. She was a dedicated employee of the Greene County Prosecutors office for 22 years. While she enjoyed her work, what made it memorable was her amazing work family. What meant the most to Sheri was spending time with her loved ones. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt and great "Alpha" aunt. Anyone who knew Sheri, understood her extreme obsession for Halloween. Bats and vampires were not just a holiday tradition for Sheri, it was an every day way of life for her. She enjoyed shopping, decorating and making every day special for those she cared about. It did not have to be a holiday or birthday for her to do something meaningful for those she loved, She looked forward to her Friday night dates and weekend shopping with her husband. To Dani, she was more than an aunt, she was like a second mom. To her goblin Brody, she went above and beyond what it meant to be a great aunt. To Lori, she was more than a sister, she was a best friend. Sheri will forever be loved and missed by many.
Sheri was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hurshel and Vera Collison; aunt, Beverly Collison and her beloved mother, Wanda Harris.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar Castaneda; father, Bill Harris; aunt, Pat Collison; sisters, Lori Harris and Chiquita Hendrick; nephew, Jeffery Peterson; nieces, Jourdyn McKinney and Dani Harris; great-nephew, Brody Harris and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
