Obituary

Sheila Lee (Hyde) Wente, 78, passed away in Springfield, MO on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born Tuesday, January 3, 1939 in Boise, Idaho to Lee A. Hyde and Dorothy Elwood.
Sheila was a proud 1957 graduate of Parkview High School and would be sure to remind you that they were the first graduating class at Parkview. That same year on June 23rd she married Charles C. Wente and to this union three daughters were born. Sheila loved nothing more than spending time with family. From her three daughters she had nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. If she wasn''t visiting or on the phone with any member of her family then she would either be walking the mall, eating Hardee''s breakfast, at water aerobics, working at the Ronald McDonald House, meeting with sorority sisters in Beta Sigma Phi, her fellow Parkview grads, the women of Binnie Clements Guild or making sure Americans carried out their civic duty as a voting supervisor for Greene County. She also never, ever, forgot a birthday. She was 78 but she lived life at the pace of a teenager. She was the best friend to many best friends. You could always depend on Sheila to be wearing jewelry, something red, something with fringe or something bearing red, white and blue. But most importantly she always wore a smile that could create an instant bond with any stranger. Heaven got its angel back.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sheila is survived by her husband, three daughters Tonya Highfill (husband Larry), Tamra Stallman (husband Russell) and Telisa Stringer (husband Dr. John); nine grandchildren, Tyler Dougherty (wife Angella), Luke Stringer (wife Meredith), Justin Dougherty (wife Sydney), Casey Lee Smith (husband Wyatt), Corrinne McGreevy (husband TJ), Julia Stringer, Haley Stallman, Will Stringer and Samantha Stallman, five great-grandchildren and numerous friends and family.
