Sharon Louise Simmons, 70, of Springfield, MO passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born on Monday, June 11, 1951 in Kansas City, KS to John and Rose Swearingen.

At 7:00 AM she went to be with her Lord and Savior, her parents John & Rose Swearingen, sister Wanda Swearingen, brother Glenn Swearingen and brother-in-law Howard Rollins.

Sharon lived in Springfield, MO with her soul mate Bill Sater. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her children, brothers, sisters, loved ones and friends. Sharon was a wonderful mother and always made sure her children knew how loved they were by her. She would give the shirt off of her back to help anyone in need. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Sharon is survived by partner Bill Sater of Springfield, MO, three children Steve Barnes (wife Kim) of Bonner Springs, KS, John Barnes (wife Jammie) of Rayville, MO and Alice Mumma (husband Brent) of Linn Valley, KS, one brother John Swearingen (wife Debbie), two sisters Juanita Rollins and Karen Drennon (husband Les) of Edwardsville, KS, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

A celebration of life will be held from 11 AM – 4 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the George Meyn Center, 126 ^th and State Ave., Bonner Springs, KS 66012. She will be laid to rest at the Yeakley Cemetery in Springfield, MO. The family asks instead of memorial donations that you pay it forward to someone in need.
