Obituary

Sharon Kay Lewis, 66, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, in Republic, MO.  She was born on Tuesday, August 27, 1957 in Oklahoma City, OK to David and Nola Lewis

Sharon moved to Springfield, MO in 1967 with her family. Sharon went to Sequiota Elementary, Cherokee Middle School and graduated Glendale High School in 1976. As a twin Sharon was 3 minutes younger than Karen. She liked to tease her "older" sister by reminding Karen she was the younger one, which got her out of trouble quite often. She would say to their mom, "I'm the youngest one, ask Karen''. Even though Karen and Sharon were not identical, they were often able to fool the teachers by switching classes. Karen took Sharon's math class and Sharon took Karen's English class. Sharon had several hobbies. She was an avid reader and owned over 200+ books. She had a passion for making beautiful intricate patterns on blankets by crocheting and/or knitting them. She always had at least one or two projects going. Her favorite card game was Gin Rummy.  She grew up playing cards with her father and then passed the tradition down to her daughter. They often played for hours, with many times Sharon saying, "lets play again". She loved to ride on her son's motorcycle, oxygen bottle and all, they were going to make it happen. Sharon was a very social soul, never met a stranger and had such an outgoing personality. As a teenager, Sharon was a lead singer for the "The Red Hots" who played at the Baldknobbers Theater. In her later years, she loved karaoke and wasn't shy to belt out a song.  Sharon had many lifelong friendships. Her friends quickly became like family, and she cherished every one of them until the day she passed. Sharon's illness may have limited her physical abilities, but she was still full of life. Her laugh and cheering voice could be heard by many during ball games and family events. She's gone too soon but will be loved for a lifetime.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father and her maternal grandparents Henry and Buelah Davis.

She is survived by her two children Jennifer "Jenny" Raynes (husband Justin) of Republic, MO and Brian Kampschroeder of Springfield, MO, her twin sister Karen Beyer (husband Rob) of Shell Knob, MO, three precious granddaughters Natalie Raynes, Kelcie Kampschroeder and Lia Kampschroeder, one great-grandchild Brixton Kampschroeder, one nephew Jeremiah Beyer (wife Padyn) of Cassville, MO, one niece Krystal Keen (husband Brandon) of Aurora, MO, three great-nephews and one great-niece.
