Obituary

Deborah "Sarah" Spencer-Barnett, 68, of Republic, MO went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 26th, 2024. She was born to David T. Spencer, Sr. and Fannie Lou (Gibbs) Spencer on Wednesday, January 11th, 1956 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Sarah's family later moved to Texas, then to Southern California where she was raised with her siblings, there she would graduate from high school. She worked as a secretary at various companies throughout her adult years. Later in life she moved to Springfield, MO and then to Marionville, MO where she lived happily with her husband, Terry Barnett for many years, while helping to raise his two young sons. Sarah loved the Lord and was a born-again Christian. She also loved her family and her animals. Sarah was giving and nurturing to everyone she knew. She had a beautiful singing voice and sang with her father's band. Sarah recorded her songs on CD's and her family and friends were very blessed that she shared those with them. One of her favorite hobbies was running flea market booths with her mom. She suffered a debilitating stroke in 2011 and spent the remaining years of her life in the Republic Nursing and Rehab Center in Republic, MO. The staff there treated her like family and she was well cared for. Sarah will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Terry Barnett; her mother Fannie Lou (Gibbs) Skakie; her father, David Spencer, Sr.; her step-mother, Sandy Spencer; her brother David Spencer, Jr.; and nephew Cody Spencer.

Sarah is survived by her brothers; James, Michael, Joshua and wife Connie, Danny and wife Veronica; four nephews; and one niece, as well as countless other family members and friends.

Following cremation, a private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date and time. Online condolences can be made at www.klingnerfuneralhome.com
