Sammy Lee Tindle, 89, of Springfield, passed away April 15, 2023 at Marshfield Care Center in Marshfield, MO.

She was born on July 5, 1933 in Forsyth, MO to Alice and Charles Brown and was raised on their family farm in Cedar Creek, MO.

Shortly after graduating high school, Sammy moved to Sacramento, CA to work for the California Highway Department. She ended up back in Springfield, MO after living in several states throughout the US.

Sammy was employed for many years and eventually retired from Oxford HealthCare in Springfield, MO.

Her favorite hobbies were quilting and crocheting. Sammy loved making quilts and blankets for friends and family members.

Sammy is preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Charles Brown, her husband Joe Tindle, her longtime friend Jim Barton, two sisters Helen and Ruby, and her son Gary.

She is survived by five daughters and a son, Carol, Betty, Debbie, Alice, Elizabeth, Freddy, and their spouses, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, and many friends.

A viewing will be held Monday, April 24, 2023 at 12:00 pm at White Chapel Funeral Home, 5234 W. Division St, Springfield, MO 65802 followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm.

Burial will be at Brighton Cemetery in Brighton, MO.
