Sally Ruth Blackwell, 58, of Nixa, passed away Friday morning, January 9, 2015 after a long illness. She was born September 4, 1956, to Maurice and Ruth (Holmes) Dickensheet, at Burge Hospital in Springfield, MO. She married Gary Glenn Blackwell at Bolivar Methodist Church on May 23, 1981, and they were married over 33 years.
Sally was a graduate of Bolivar High School and of Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. She had been a computer programmer-analyst with Hughes CentriLift in Claremore, OK, and City Utilities and ANPAC in Springfield.
She was a member of Mt Pisgah United Methodist Church, Springfield, MO.
She was survived by her husband Gary Blackwell, siblings, Barbi Dickensheet and Betty Dickensheet (and Dan) of Springfield, Milton Dickensheet (and Debbie) of Bolivar, and Lisa Roberts (and Leonard), of Pittsburg, MO; and nieces and nephews, Daniel (and Courtney & Kennedy), Matt, Rachel, and Lydia Dickensheet, and Michael and Kyle Roberts. She is also survived by her aunts, Mary Lou Mayfield, Ruth Ellen Deckard, Phyllis Holmes, and Vera Holmes as well as many dear cousins and friends.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her uncles David, Danny, and John (and Merle) Holmes, George Dickensheet (and Janis), Gerald Deckard, and Gordon Mayfield.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 14 from 5-7 p.m., at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home-Midtown. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 15, at 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.
