Ruth "Ruthie" Lemons, 93 of Springfield passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013. She was born February 11, 1920 to Bert and Lola Pruitt Milstead in Springfield. Ruthie married the love of her life Wm. Clyde Lemons on October 26, 1941 in Springfield, MO.
Ruthie was a member of High Street Baptist Church attending the Fellowship Class. She was an avid gardener with a special touch for roses. Ruthie was a fantastic baker and also an animal lover. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Susan Hessefort, 2 sisters, Pearl McCroskey and Irene Rogers, 2 brothers, Melvin Milstead and Bert Charles Milstead. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Wm. Clyde Lemons; a son, Terry Lemons and his wife Donna; former son in law, Joe Hessefort; granddaughter, Cindi Nanney; 3 great grandchildren, Emily Hensley and her husband Christopher; Jacob and Carlee Nanney; 2 great, great grandchildren, Caiden and Piper Hensley; A special niece, Wanda Chamberlain and her husband Walt and numerous other nieces and nephews.
