The family of Russell "Rusty" Paul Black Sr., is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at home with family in Willard, MO. He was born on Wednesday, June 21, 1961 in Elk City, OK to Rodney and Neoma Black.
Rusty spent the majority of his life in Texas where he helped raise his children and built a career in the automotive industry. He then retired to Willard, MO where he enjoyed gardening and spending time with loved ones. Rusty also served in the Marine Corps. He spent his life leading and influencing those around him. He held many roles. To some Rusty was a boss that would guide and advise. To others he was a mentor that taught. He influenced everyone to be better and gave everyone a chance to prove their talent. Rusty's innate ability to read people allowed him to encourage them where they needed it. He worked hard and took pride in all that he did. Rusty was a great Son, Brother, and friend. He was such a wonderful, loving, and proud Father and Grandpa. Rusty loved big and gave the best hugs ever! His greatest joy came from his 12 grandchildren!
Rusty was preceded in death by his Mother.
He is survived by his father Rodney Black (wife Annie) of Amarillo, TX, his three children Mary Ann Berry (husband Ray) and 4 children of Willard, MO, Russell Black Jr. and 5 children of Amarillo, TX and Rocky Black (wife Jennifer) and three children of Amarillo, TX and two sisters DeNell Nelson (husband Mike) and Rhonda Jaques of Amarillo, TX.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations maybe made in his name to Blue Star Mothers of Greene Co., PO Box 822, Willard, MO 65781 or via the PayPal link below.
