Russ Delnevo passed April 14, 2018 peacefully at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born Russell Walter Delnevo on October 5, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA.   Russ was the eternal optimist and could look at a tragic or stressful situation in his own life, or other's, and see the positive and levity in it.

Russ loved playing guitar more than anything in the world.  No matter what, rock and roll would always be there.

Russ was an outstanding travel companion.  He was an enthusiastic travel partner that would push the limits.

Russ went to MU, where he swam for the team, then transferred to SMS where he graduated. He dropped out of MU and did a tour of Europe and North Africa for a semester or two where he had some near death experiences,  but made it home alive with a nice Spanish guitar he'd picked up in toe.  (He still has that guitar).

Russ lived in Dallas, TX for about the last thirty years.  He worked as a manufacture's rep for his own company with quite a bit of success, Del Tech South, then moved over to Woot, an internet company, where he stayed until retirement.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Sonia Delnevo and survived by his brother, Stewart Delnevo (& Pam); his sister Tara Raaphorst (& Pete); nieces Jennifer, Britney, and Hannah; and nephews Alex and Ryan all from Springfield, MO, as well as many friends.

Visitation will be Thursday evening, April 19, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte on South Lone Pine Ave. in Springfield. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Klingner-Cope Chapel with burial to follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions can be made to American Cancer Society.
