A much-loved Rueben Lawrence Wentler of Springfield, MO, died Saturday, August 25, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 68 years old.
He was born on February 6th, 1944 in Sibley, IA and was the son of late Raymond Charles and Marion (Munsen) Wentler. After being transferred to Springfield, MO in 1979 from Higginsville, MO, Reuben retired in 2005 from City Utilities, where he had worked as a tree trimmer for 26 years. He was an active member of the Teamsters Local Union No. 753.
Reuben is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna June, and their four children, Tonya Lynn (Fears) Collins and husband Jeff, Raymond Lawrence Wentler and wife Allison, Robert Marion Wentler and wife Deborah, and Warren Scott Wentler and wife Amy, as well as by his sister, Elizabeth Evelyn (Wentler) Lopeman. Reuben has 12 grandchildren: Brittnea, Trever and Nicholas Collins, Brandee Wentler and Matthew Blanton, Joshua and Rachel Wentler, Skyler and Lance Wentler, and Kalyn, Brandy and Cody Adams; Roman Collins is his only great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on August 31, 2012, at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Ann Cheffey will officiate.
