Roy entered Heaven Monday, July 8, 2019, at the age of 90, after a long illness.
Roy was born December 18, 1928 at the family home, south of Aurora, in Barry county. He was the third son of Herbert Williams and Jewel Glen (Thomas) Williams.
He graduated from Eureka Grade School, Aurora High School and attended Missouri University, Columbia. He married Wilma Elaine Ramsey, Jan. 25, 1950. They had a son, Terry, and two daughters, Gloria and Brenda, who all reside in the Kansas City area. Roy and Elaine lived in Kansas City for many years, where Roy owned an automobile repair business, before retiring and moving to the eastern part of Kansas City.
Roy accepted Jesus as his Savior at a young age. He also served as an ordained Southern Baptist minister in Kansas City and various Missouri towns.
He won the battle against kidney cancer in 2005, leaving him with one-half kidney. Elaine died from gallbladder surgery complications in early 2005.
Roy moved to Springfield, MO and married Valda (Vehmann) Hagerman, a long-time family friend on October 22, 2005.
Roy was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers, Harold, Eugene, Thomas (Tom), and two baby sisters. He is survived by his wife Valda; his children, Terry Williams, Gloria (Charlie) Walker and their children Chris (Kim) Walker and Robyn Walker; Brenda (Dale) Berry; Valda's children, Kenda (Todd) Buehlig, Sabina (Steve) Chapman and Barron (Betsy) Hagerman.
He is also survived by two brothers, Charles (Dolores) Williams of Sunrise Beach, MO and Martin (Garlene) of Unionville, MO; five sisters, Elsa Manes of Springfield, MO; Willodean Vaught, Rebakah (Rex) Miller, Glenna Edmondson, all of Cassville, MO; and Evalina (Gene) Shippee of Dillon, MT.
Roy leaves behind great-grandchildren, Logan and Harrison Walker (Chris and Kim). He also leaves behind Terry's 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; Brenda's (Dale) two daughters and 10 grandchildren; and Valda's 6 grandchildren.
Roy will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
