Ronald Wayne Gielow, 69, of Springfield, MO passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at his home with family by his side. He was born on Friday, April 18, 1952 in St. Louis, MO to Esther Marie Reichardt and Marvin William Gielow.
Ron graduated from Southwest High School in St. Louis and earned his Bachelor's degree from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. He married his college sweetheart Barbara Swan on June 14, 1975. Ron was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield and worked as a controller for the Paul Mueller Co. for 22 years. He loved spending time with friends and family, playing golf with his great friends, brewing his own beer, taking care of his cars, and watching football.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Bob Gielow, his father-in-law Robert Swan, and many beloved pets.
He is survived by his wife of over 46 years, one son Derek Gielow of St. Louis, MO, one daughter Susie and her husband Andy Hebenstreit of Kimberling City, MO, one sister Janet Kerpan (husband Dan) of Aurora, CO, his mother-in-law Alberta Swan of Lawrence, KS, two sisters-in-law Linda Baker of Lawrence, KS and Becky Gielow of Palos Verdes, CA, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family. He is also survived by two faithful canine companions, Kyler and Bella.
A visitation will be held from 2pm-4pm on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in the Chapel at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO, 65804. A Celebration of Life will follow, beginning at 5pm at Uncle Bentley's, 4123 S. National Ave., Springfield, MO 65807. Memorial donations may be made in Ron's name to Rescue One, 1927-B E.
