Harford James "Rocky" Moyle, 95, of Springfield, MO passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at his home with his loving wife and daughter present. The son of Carl and Donna (Sargent) Moyle, he was born on Friday, August 27, 1926, at their home in Strawberry Point, IA.
He spent his boyhood on farms in the Iowa area. As a young man, Rocky moved to Waterloo, IA and worked at the Rath Packing Company for 17 years. In 1952 he married Imogene Mennen and together they shared 69 wonderful years. Rocky was happiest working outside and helping others. He particularly enjoyed working with tractors. In 1963, Rocky moved his family to Springfield, MO. There he worked for the American Red Cross. After he retired, he went to the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks until he retired again. Rocky was a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church serving as deacon in the past.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Gene and Larry Moyle and one grandson Robbie Moyle.
Rocky is survived by his wife, six sons Dale of Colorado Springs CO, Dan (wife Marcia) of Lamont, IA, Doug of Pt. Angeles, WA, Jeffrey of Theodosia, MO, Barrett of Shell Knob, MO and Robert Moyle (wife Melody) of Sacramento, CA, one daughter Susan Schroeder (husband Ron) of Prescott Valley, AZ, one brother Elwin Moyle of Dubuque, IA, one sister Darlene Tolstad (husband Wallace), his sister-in-law Clara Pogose of Eagle Bend, MN, eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one step-great-grandson and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Rivermonte Memorial Gardens, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804 with Rev. Don Everts from First and Calvary Presbyterian Church officiating. Memorial donations and/or blood may be given to the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks.
