IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Norman
Nixon
March 23, 1936 – October 16, 2022
Robert Norman Nixon, formerly of Springfield, was born to Russell and Iva [Wilcoxson] Nixon on March 23, 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, October 16, 2022 in Nixa, Missouri at peace with his daughters and granddaughter Johnna by his side.
He was known by many names. "Norman" is believed to be his first name until seeing his birth certificate upon joining the Navy, in 1955. "Nick" is what his wife of 60 years called him, as did most of their friends and neighbors. Business associates called him "Bob". His children simply called him "Dad".
He met Jeanne [White] Nixon on a blind date and they married July 10, 1960. Three children were born to this union. Lori, Julie & Daniel.
Nick & Jeanne made a great team. From their many home projects, to making keepsakes for their children, family, & friends. Loved their travels – near & far. They truly were great together here on earth, and he was looking forward to teaming up with her again.
Self-described as "a man of many talents, master of none" he was self-employed at the time of his retirement. He never met a stranger, forging lifelong friendships along the way. And in the last 2 months, was fortunate to have made new ones while he resided at the Veterans Home in Mt Vernon, until his health declined.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald, & James. His loving wife of 60 years, Jeanne. Son, Danny, and great-great grandson, Jasper.
Survived by his sister Wilma [Henry] Semrau, & brother Richard Nixon. Daughters, Lori Warren of Republic, Julie [David "Herby"] Cozort of Nixa. Five grandchildren, Johnna [Darrell] Twedell of Springfield, Kevin [Krystal] Loveland of Billings, Kelli Willhaus of Springfield, Ryan [Sunny] Warren of Monett, and Nathan Nixon of Nixa. Eight great-grandkids, 2 great-great granddaughters, with another on the way. Many nieces, nephews, dear family friends and neighbors.
No visitation is planned. A chapel service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 29, 2022, with graveside military honors following the chapel service at Klinger-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte 4500 S. Lone Pine Avenue, Springfield, MO 65804
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the North Pointe Church Building Fund.
