Robert C. Langston Obituary
On June 17th at 10:34 a.m. a great man left this earth and joined his heavenly father and dear
wife in heaven. He was just four months short of his 100th birthday! He leaves behind three
children, J.R. and his wife Jean, Geneva and her husband Rod, and Dennis and his wife Carla.
He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
He was married to his wife and our mother, Betty Jo Langston, for 65 years and 8 months. She
passed away in August 2007. Our dad was a great husband, a very caring father and an
awesome grandpa. Some of the things he loved doing was camping and gardening. He was
able to retire early from his job at Harry Cooper Supply Co., where he had worked for 37 years.
He and mom then started their own business that took them to every craft show, in the 4 state
area, where they sold their own ceramics. Dad poured and fired, mom glazed and
painted..Because of this hobby/business he and mom were able to spend many a winter in
Florida He was also a veteran of World War II. He served under Patton and started in northern
Africa and ended in northern Italy. It wasn't until late in life that dad started telling us his war
stories. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church, and loved his church and his
Lord, and we all had no doubt that he had a place reserved with God. We will dearly miss this
kind, quiet and caring man, but we all know that is in a much better place. We love you Dad.
His funeral will be at Klinger-Cope Rivermonte Funeral home on south Lone Pine, at 11
a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m..We ask that all donations be made to St. Jude, this was his
favorite charity
