IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert
Hicks
January 27, 1940 – January 29, 2022
Robert E. Hicks, 82, of Springfield, MO passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at his home with family by his side. He was born on Saturday, January 27, 1940 in East Chattanooga, TN to Jake and Nellie (Scroggins) Hicks.
Bob was born, and lived, in East Chattanooga, TN until he joined the Navy at the age of 17. In December 1959, he met his wife to be Barbara. They were united in marriage on January 23, 1960 and just celebrated their 62nd anniversary. Throughout his life, Bob was a hard-working, God-fearing man who was devoted to his wife and family. He loved with his whole heart and was always willing to help those in need. Bob was a man of few words, but when he did speak, he also listened. He gave his life to the Lord in 1971. His greatest desire was for others to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior as he had done so many years ago.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents, his step-father Bob Burton, two brothers Alan and Howell Hicks, three sisters Betty Warren, Elizabeth Jenkins and Louise Pippin and one grandson Michael Shawn Moore.
He is survived by his wife Barbara F. Hicks, two daughters Trudy L. Mefford (husband Curtis) and Sherry L. Caldera (husband Jorge), one brother James T. Hicks (wife Gerrie) of Hixson, TN, eight grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren with a third on the way this July and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
